Suffering

Heard this joke a long time ago. When you get married, you get three rings.

1. Engagement ring (for girls, kind of awkward for guys to wear one, well unless the girl propose to the guy which is rather unlikely)

2. Wedding ring

3. i’m sure you can guess. suffer-ring? ta-dah!

In all seriousness, all of us go through some form of suffering, We never realized and we never notice. Some show it rather obviously and some in a really subtle way. There exist people who don’t show signs at all. What kind of affliction is the worst?

Have you ever wondered why the lady in the hospital, soldier in torture or child who got caned cried? They all suffer from sort of physical pain, yes. More importantly, they all are somewhat distressed emotionally.

The lady with cancer cries because she is so

  • worried about leaving her loved ones behind.
  • embarrassed of the way she looks and being bald
  • not sure what day to day brings

You can guess why for the soldier and the child. The fact is physical pain does lead to emotional pain generally. Depressed people choose to jump off the bridge or the building and rather endure the few seconds of damage to their bodies to stop the affliction on their souls.

Say a prayer, talk to a friend, do a run. Plenty of things to look out for. I know, sometimes, you feel like the loneliest soul and just feel desolation. I been there. Whatever you do, know that there is someone out there for you. Know that one day, your pain will lead to hope which in return leads to joy.

Have a nice day wherever you are. πŸ™‚
